Economic Kuey Teow that's not really cheap. haha...

This was lunch for Saturday afternoon, tapow-ed from the Economic Noodles stall at a Kopitiam in Clementi West St 2, just beside the post office.

I was lazy to go out the whole day, so sis tapow this for me.

Was delicious, and the drumstick is so huge. Together with brinjals and garlic shoots.
$3.50, why do they call it economic? haha... Well, comfort food.

House of Peranakan Cuisine @ Hotel Meritus Negara

It was suppose to be a curry fish head night, but guess what? They were sold out on that item! We were all surprised as we never encountered a sold-out on fish head curry before ;) Parents and i ordered other food instead.

First, you will be served the sambal balachan, which is not that spicy actually.

First dish was Nyonya Chap Chye

Then came Sambal Sotong

Pabi Pong Teh, which i remembered according to grandma, this was supposed to be cooked in pork belly. But many restaurants have modified and used lean meat nowadays for healthier reasons.

Lastly, to replace curry fish head, we had another fish. Cant remember the exact name, but it was supposed to be the next house specialty.

It was a rather delicious meal, just that i missed my curry fish head fix. Maybe next time....

Crystal Jade Kitchen @ Holland Village

Few nites ago, sis asked if I wanted to join her colleagues and her for dinner. I guess you know the answer, or else these pictures would not be here! haha..

They were going to have dinner at Crystal Jade Kitchen @ Holland V.
Sis has a colleague who does not eat meat, so these dishes are mostly meatless.

I arrived later and food was already ordered, so I don't know the name of these dishes :-)

This is tofu skin with mushroom and veg. I think this taste very good!

Mapo Tofu...

This one was on my plate, with the sauce on....

Kung Bao Chicken. (This has meat, obviously! doosh KM! Km shouts: ouch!)

This is the Veg with 3 diff eggs dish. We always enjoy eating this...

Do you like eating vegetables? Just wondering...

Fatty Cheong @ ABC Market

It's been some time since colleagues and I went to ABC, so off we went to eat one colleague's favourite "shao la" stall.

Since I have taken photos before, so only took 2 this time.

The yummylicious Roast Duck.

And the equally delicious Roast Pork mix.

We had the "shui jiao" soup etc, but I did not take any photos of it. I wonder why?....

But another colleague bought us some Popiah to eat while we waited for other colleagues to arrive.

I love Roast Meats, do you?

Sushi Tei @ Raffles City

Last Saturday nite, we met a friend who have come to work in Singapore for a few months and met him for dinner.

We ate at Sushi Tei, why did we go there? Coz we wanted to use some Sushi Tei vouchers! Did I hear lame? haha..

Anyway, we had Asagao Sashimi. Yummy! $18

We like seaweed, so here's it is. $4

Sis wants to eat this, so we had Hotate Miso Mayo. Very very good if you like things a bit salty. I love it. $8

I saw this in the menu, and wanted to try it.
Beef in Miso, but you gotta cook it yourself. Gyu Miso Yaki $13

3 of us ate faster than we can cook the beef! haha..

Something Korean in a Jap place, (I think I have shown this before).
Tofu Kimchi Nabe $16.
We ordered this because the last time we took it, we loved it.

I like Kimchi and this soup, it's so addictive! Yes, I drank lots of soup!

We must be so hungry that we forgot to take the picture of Tempura Mori $10 that we ate!

It was worth it because we only paid $53.13 nett.
(after incl towels, the misc taxes etc....)

Ice Cream Weekend....

I think I have too much ice cream for the weekend. Just around a few hours ago, I had the muddy mud pie from Coffee Club.

Yesterday, after dinner, I had some Ben & Jerrys.

Actually yesterday morning, I also had Dark Choc Gelato from Magnolia that's in my freezer.
Do you like ice cream like me? hehe...

BaliThai @ Suntec City

Last nite, if you read by other blog you would have read that I met up with Kaa & Hubby from Vantaa DP. We ate at BaliThai.

These are the things we ordered.
Pandan Chicken

The starter platter.

That consists of Satay.

Fish cakes, spring rolls

and rice crackers.

This is the pineapple rice.

Phad Thai

Green Chicken Curry. I like green curry. hehe..

Stir fried Kailan.

This is so so deceiving.... When we sat down, we were asked if we wanted drinks. We said water, the lady said still or sparking. We thought still would be good. We thought that it is one of those places that do not serve plain old water.

At the end of the meal, we realise that all the tables beside us had the normal water and someone refilling water. Hey! We got cheated! We asked for water and they tricked us by asking for still or sparking. We paid $12 before taxes for water! haha....

The food is not bad. We just had a 'bad' impression left by the water. LOL...

Megabites @ NUS - a new eatery near the Science Canteen

Finally... Many staff and students have endued the inconvenience caused by the renovations beside the Science canteen. A new eatery called Megabites opened few days ago.

Colleagues and I (all very very kepo and hungry) decided we shall visit. We went early so the queue is not that long. It was already packed by the way.

Some of the things we ordered.

This is the combo meal that I had. Fish and Chicken Chop. Comes with mushroom soup and a drink from the self service machine. I had peach tea. This combination cost less than $5.

Then there's chicken chop only if you are not fickle minded like I am. This comes with mash instead of fries.

Another colleague decided to have cake. So this is the Black Forest Cake he ordered and all of us 'taxed'. LOL

There's a wide variety at this air-conditioned eatery. Pizzas and Sandwiches are also available.

Lerk Thai @ Square 2

It has been a long time since we went anywhere near Novena. We realised that there's a new 'Square 2' just beside the previously known Novena Sq that is now called Velocity. (confused? i was. haha..)

We ate at Lerk Thai.

The Rolls that was ordered. I particularly like the sauce that goes with it. Very peanuty. yum...

This is the fried Tang Hoon.

Tom Yam Soup. This is their offer item, we were surprised. This pot of soup only $2.

Pandan Wrapped Chicken.

Mixed Platter of Thai Dessert.

Red Ruby Dessert.

That was our quick lunch.

Quick Breakfast @ Bukit Timah Food Centre

After church service, sis and I were really really hungry, so we went to have breakfast at the food market next to our church.

We were going to have lunch soon, but we have not had breakfast, so we ordered some light food lah. But... this was only part of the food, we ordered many other things. haha...

Chwee Kuey. and oh..... how I love chai por.

We saw someone ordering so many of this Paper Wrap Chicken at the next table, so we thought we would try it too.

So so lah, the chicken sticks too much to the paper.

Mickey Mouse Cake

On Sunday night, a group of us were invited to a friend's house for dinner. He was preparing steamboat. We knew it was his birthday, and had hints that he did not want anyone of us to bring anything.

But how can we go empty handed? We decided to get him a cake anyway. He's already 35. Looking at the refrigerated shelf at Bengawan Solo, we can't decide which cake.

The kiddo in us said, get a Mickey Mouse! Haha...

It is a beautiful cake ya? Surprisingly, it tasted not bad too. It was a chocolate cake inside.
Happy Birthday Alan!

Food Republic @ Wisma Atria

By know you know that at time, we do crazy things, we will take a cab halfway thru the island to eat and then take cab and get back to work. Of course we don't do it daily.

This colleague of ours, had to go to a dentist, and his dentist is at Wisma Atria. So we accompanied him lah, give him comfort a bit. LOL. (aren't you afraid of the dentist??)

So we ate at Food Republic.

We ordered 'Or Chien' (Oysters Pancakes)

We also had 2 plates of the "Or peh" leaves char kuey teow.

Another colleague ordered the "oh peh" leaves hay mee.

Also the "jian ping". We all don't find this jian ping nice at all.

Don't need to name the store ya, when you are there, I am sure you can find the store.
By the way, everyone seems to say the same thing. The similar food, the prices in Wisma Atria seems to be cheaper than at the Harry Potter version of Food Republic at Suntec City.
