Wedding Dinner @ Raffles the Plaza (Part 2)

Con't from yesterday.

Part 2 of the menu, or the lower part.

We were each served an abalone. Hmmm we wonder if we give angpow money or not? haha...

Braised Baby Abalone with Tianjin Cabbage in XO Oyster Sauce.
For me personally, I like the cabbage more! I am not an abalone eater.

Next was Steamed Live Dark Groupa in Supreme Sauce. I like fish!

Next Stir fried Bailing Mushroom with Capsicum and Waterchestnuts served in Yam Ring.

Then it was Stewed Ee-Fu Noodles with Shredded Abalone and Beansprouts.
I always like Ee-Fu noodles. Yummmmy!

For those who stayed back till the end, they get to enjoy:
Hot Sweetened Glutinous Rice Balls with Dates and Gingko Nuts, Lotus Seeds.

That ends the dinner. Pardon the blur pictures again, it was like snap snap quickly, walk to next table chat with friends, etc. It was a good meet up nite, and congratulations too to the Wedding Couple.

Wedding Dinner @ Raffles the Plaza

Last week, attended our friends wedding dinner at Raffles the Plaza.

So, here's the photos, a bit blur because the lighting is so so so dimm. These photos have flash artificially added in using my mac.

The menu...

The few round dishes which together forms the cold dish.
The jelly fish...

Eggs with stuff which I forgot.. :-)

Prawns and Fruit Salad with mayo.

Deep fried rolls, err I forgot what rolls they were.

Baby squids. Not the orangy coloured ones, this one has a more natural colour.

Next was the traditional sharks fin. Anti sharks fin pple, skip this section....

Braised Sharks Fin Soup with Conpoy and Fish Maw.

Next was Sauteed Scallops with Baby Asparagus, Macadamia Nuts and Pine Nuts.
Lovely dish..

Next was Deep-fried Deboned Chicken stuffed with Minced Prawns served with Mayo.
It's quite interesting to have stuff prawns in it!

We were meeting up with many friends whom we have not met for a long time. So food was secondary. So I can't remember what they taste like. hehe...

Continue tomorrow....

Raffles Hotel Wedding Luncheon (Part 2)

Glad you came back for Part 2.

For those who chose fish, this is the Pan Seared Sea Bass Fillet, Vintage Vinegar.
I took my neighbour's dish. haha...

The desserts were Beer Sorbet with Vanilla - Marinated Strawberries Own Juice & Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I split the photo into 2 portions.

Mignardises. Yummy yummy chocolates.
Since not everyone took them, I had a taste of every kind there!
(I took some from neighbouring tables too! - I was walking around for official duties. hehe...)

Here it is... The end of the luncheon celebrating the wedding of Charles and Elaine.

Raffles Hotel Wedding Luncheon (Part 1)

If you have been following my other blog, you can guess that the food section will follows the occasion.

It was a western Wedding Lunch, instead of the traditional Chinese 8 Course Dinner. It's something quite refreshing.

The pictures were all taken without flash, so its a bit yellowish, as the ballroom was litted very dimly with warm lights.

Here it goes:
The menu for the food.

The Napolean Crab & Barley Salad with Tomato Gazpacho & Virgin Olive Oil.
I actually quite like this!

Different types of bread rolls were served.

Wild Mushroom Consomme Brunoise of Vegetable.
We were all wondering what it was. haha.. But it tasted good. Took this with flash, else everything's black! :-p

There was a choice of Fish or Chicken. I took the Chicken.
Roasted Chicken Breast, Natural Jus Garnish with Port Wine Risotto, Sauteed Asparagus Spears, Confit of Vine Ripened Tomato.

(As usual, when I posted around 5 photos, the rest goes into the next's days :-) )
