Last Sunday, we decided to go to The Centrepoint at Orchard Rd because it was the last day of the sale at Robinsons.

The usual places to eat there is so predictable, so we thought we will walk down the Basement 2. We walked and thought hmmm new shop, should we give it a try? So we walked in and sat down. Looked at the menu, so boring, thought we should have gone opposite shop instead.

Anyway, we ordered 1 fried rice and 1 XO beehoon. We thought we will just make it quick and get on with shopping.

When the food came, we tried it, ey, not that bad leh. Still can pass. haha...

Fried Rice something, sis said Crystal Jade better, but ok lah, its less pricy here :-)



We also ordered XO Bee hoon. It actually taste quite ok. This picture is actually the 2nd plate we ordered. The original one came with 9-10 prawns. Uncle's coming to join us, he does not eat prawns, so they actually accommodated by changing the ingredients to have sotong and chicken meat instead. That gave us a good impression.



While we were at it, we saw the counter had Kueh Pai Tee, so we ordered. It came in a plate like this. Wah. Never seen pai tee served like this. It was not too bad too.



Good alternative to Pizza Hut, Prima Taste etc at this mall. Rice and Noodles around $9, Paitee ( 5 pieces) for around $6 I think. Place still new, so no GST yet. haha... Usual service tax still applies.

As promised, here's the main course dishes. It was all in a set and they all taste excellent.

Started with Ginseng Chicken soup. For someone who does not really fancy ginseng, this was ok to drink. Not strong ginseng taste and not overfully heaty.

Next came the rice, otherwise known as bibiba. Its a korean rice dish, where you see different ingredients like beef, carrots, spinach, mushrooms, some seaweed and an un-cooked egg yolk in the centre. You are suppose to mix it all up with some chilli sauce, breaking the egg yolk. Traditionally, this is served in a stone pot.

Lastly, a fish, also known as saba fish. Something like the japanese ones. At the side is a slice of lemon for people who are afraid of the fishy taste.

I simply love Korean food. Before the main dishes arrived to the table, they always serve you 4 to 6 dishes of appetisers. And each one taste quite different. This was eaten at Crystal Jade Korean @ Centrepoint.

Started with korean bean sprouts. These don't taste like the ordinary ones, its has more "beannie" taste.



Next came the traditional kimchi. Ooo, this was spicy! But if you love spicy and sour together, this is good.



Following that, green vegetables. Cant remember what's this called, but its a tad oily.




Then came something that tasted like radish.



This is also radish, prepared in another way. This one doesnt taste as spicy as the kim chi.



Lastly, eggplant with capsicum.



Just those 6 appetisers, we were already 1/2 filled. And the main course was not served yet! That comes tomorrow ;)

Prima Taste @ Centrepoint (Part 2)

Some of you got it spot on! It's Rojak! I love the 'you tiao' inside it!

Prima Taste @ Centrepoint

Our family sometimes pop by here if we are going shopping in Robinsons. Why? It's nearby lor. It's fast and food's not bad too.

Prima-taste Kitchen. Where they are famous for the pre-mix and paste that makes cooking so easy. I think lots of people especially those who miss Singapore/Asian food will cart back tonnes of these stuff.



I shall not be posting any food pics today. People complain that food pics make them hungry. Well, this place you queue up and the lady at the entrance will find you a table. Pass you an empty pad with food list inside. Tick what you want and bring it to the counter and pay.



After paying you get wooden tokens like these above. Yes, we ordered something twice! It was just yummy and we were feeling a bit greedy. haha...
