NUSS: Nasi Goreng Istimewa

As promised a few days ago, more Nasi Goreng. These are the higher end Nasi Goreng. So it is a bit costly at these places.

I wonder if I have more Nasi Goreng photos... Hmm...

Raffles Town Club: The Cafe & Terrace (Part 2)

Yesterday's photos were what I ate. The others with me ate other stuff.
I did not take all of them, but here's some of it.

The Singapore style Prawn Noodle.

Fried Kuay Teow

Fruit Rojak.

Raffles Town Club: The Cafe & Terrace

It was interesting reading at yesterday's comments on today's post. It's at Raffles Town Club.

No, I am not a member of RTC, but someone brought me in :-) It was after church, and after waiting for everyone to be ready it was already quite late. We were already very hungry, so we took the quick ala-carte option.

I had Nasi Goreng Istimewa. (or something like that, I forgot liao...)

This is it. Fried Rice with an egg on top, 1 piece of fried chicken on the left, achar behind, and satay on the right.

This is the yummy satay.

I had chocolate ice cream for dessert.

I have been having lots of Nasi Goreng, I have no idea why. Maybe I shall post other nasi goreng pictures the next few days.

ShangHaiRenJia @ Upper Thomson - Part 2

There were other things that we ate, but I was a bit shy in taking photos, only these two dishes.

The Xiao Long Bao is good! It's as good, if not better than Din Tai Fung :-)

This is their sign board at the glass wall.

ShangHaiRenJia @ Upper Thomson

Last Saturday, went to the Tree Top Walk at Mcritchie. After that, we were invited to have lunch. Lunch was at this place not too far away at Upper Thomson Road.

The place is called Shang Hai Ren Jia.

With a name like that, you can guess the cuisine. The Jian Bao is something you should try here.
Yummylicious!!!

The inside has juices too, but this one half the meat eaten by me and the juice suck out when I pry open the bao! haha...

It's at 906B Upper Thomson Road, Singapore 787110. Tel: 6456 7752

Keng Eng Kee Seafood @ Alexandra Village (Series 2)

Our cousin from UK came over, so we went to this place to try out the other food here. It's the Kek Eng Kee Seafood place again, but this time we sat at the aircon place.

The 'cold plate'. It is quite interesting, the combi for this one. Starting from the right is the spicy squid. It's not the normal reddish jap kind. But dark soyish colour. There's meat balls made from diff combi of meat, in the middle, eggs with taugeh, and behind deep fried tauhu pok.

This is how the tau hoo pok looks close up. There's veg, ham, fake crab etc, all inside a piece of big big tau pok and deep fried with batter.

The scary fish yesterday. The scarier it is, the tastier it is? hahaha...

This is actually dark san lou hor fun. Usually it is whitish right? This one is dark and comes with 2 raw eggs on top. You mix it up, it taste so so good.

Guess what other things we ate? :-P

Sharp Teeth!

Look at the teeth of the fish! It's either you eat it up, or it will eat you up! hahaha...

More pictures of the feast tomorrow...

Buona Vista Coffeeshop: Duck Noodles.

This is duck noodles. Colleague's food while I ate the food in yesterday's posting.

I think I just realised that one of my colleague must be a super duck lover. Most of the time when we order our food, his will be duck!

Mei Chai Kou Rou @ Buona Vista.

One of my fav food is Mei Cai Kou Rou. Usually, you will expect dark not so soupy fat meat with more mei chai than kou rou.

Look at this version. Initially I thought the wrong order came. It has lots of meat and it is chunks instead of slices. It is also soupy, looks more like Bak Kut Teh right? The soup is not salty and the mei cai is below it.

I guess it must be the different dialect style cooking. I kind of like it. It's at the very packed coffee shop at the turning from Commonwealth Ave West to Holland Drive. It's $4.

Amoy Street Food Centre: Wantan Noodles.

This is something that I eat quite often, and I think I have never took a picture of it until last week! This stall selling Wantan Noodles is at the Amoy Street Food Centre.

This version is the kuay teow (rice noodles) version. This stalls combination just makes me happy eating. I get wantons, char siew, mushroom, veggies and 2 diff kinds of chilli. Maybe it's just me, but it is delicious. $2.50 / $3.00

More cakes. Are you all fed up of Birthday cakes yet? I realise I have so many more of them.

This cake was for Alex, one of my CG mates. It's a cake from Prima Deli.

You know how old he is now. haha..

Tigerfish, I know you all talking the truth. LOL. I wonder what you all can think of for the following slice of cake. haha..

More birthday cakes coming...

Birthday Cake - Cheesecake with Peaches

It's still on the theme of Birthday Cakes.

This one is very delicious and tasty. This pic is a bit old.
It's cheesecake topped with peaches in jelly.

Here's a view of the inside.

I think it's homemade by one of our friends. I fogot :-) But we do remember who the birthday girl is :-)

Birthday Cake - Winnie The Pooh Cake

Yesterday's cake is obviously for an adult. This one is different. It is obviously for kids.

Would you like this cake for your birthday? The inside of the cake. It's also a chocolate cake.

Yesterday's cake comments made me laugh so loud. I wonder what comments you all will give for this one. haha...

Birthday Cake - Angie The Choice

This was taken some time ago. One day before a meeting, a few of asked the birthday girls to quickly come for a discussion. Well, it's a surprise and super quick celebration for the 2 of them.

Here's the cake. It was very very very chocolately and fluffy and so so delicious.
The cake's from Angie the Choice.

The whole cake in its full glory.

A look at the inside of the cake. Feel like tasting it? Mua ha ha ha....

This is simply lickalicious! The chocolate outer layer of the cake.

Happy Birthday to Jennifer and Adeline again!

For your convenience, I have included a google search box here. If you are interested to look for this cake shop, enter "Angie The Choice" in the search box and do a google search.

Prima Taste @ Centrepoint (Part 2)

Some of you got it spot on! It's Rojak! I love the 'you tiao' inside it!

This is Bak Kut Teh, sorry picture a bit blur :-p It's the peppery type.

Mee Siam. This is what I had. The 'tau jiu' taste is very strong :-)

This is Satay Bee Hoon.

The Yong Tau Foo Laksa.

There you go, a few of the most well loved local food of Singapore, all in one place.

Prima Taste @ Centrepoint

Our family sometimes pop by here if we are going shopping in Robinsons. Why? It's nearby lor. It's fast and food's not bad too.

Prima-taste Kitchen. Where they are famous for the pre-mix and paste that makes cooking so easy. I think lots of people especially those who miss Singapore/Asian food will cart back tonnes of these stuff.

I shall not be posting any food pics today. People complain that food pics make them hungry. Well, this place you queue up and the lady at the entrance will find you a table. Pass you an empty pad with food list inside. Tick what you want and bring it to the counter and pay.

After paying you get wooden tokens like these above. Yes, we ordered something twice! It was just yummy and we were feeling a bit greedy. haha...

This empty plate is what we ordered twice. Can anyone guess what it is? The leftover are some hints. LOL... Stay tuned tomorrow to see what we ate here.

Meanwhile, make your guess.

Keng Eng Kee Seafood @ Alexandra Village (Part 3)

This is the final installment of this series.

This is braised sea cucumber and duck. Delicacy!

Veg with fried ikan bilis on top. Just look at it!

If you like 'tua tow', look at this generous serving!

For this price, it's absolute a delight!
Guess what! It seems that if you have an OCBC card, you get 10% off! (coffee shop leh!)

What shall I eat next?

Keng Eng Kee Seafood @ Alexandra Village (Part 2)

Many people who come here order the Hor Fun. Just peep around the tables. haha.. It's actually quite good. It has the burnt wok taste, just a hint to make it smells and taste so good.

This is sambal cuttlefish and kangkong. Delicious oh...

This is one of the 'signboard' dishes (jiao pai cai). It's Marmite Chicken. Kids love this! So do I!

If you are a pork lover, try their sweeet and sour pork. I think I still prefer Marmite Chicken :-p

Well, we have 4 more dishes, wait till you see the price tomorrow, am sure you will dash there!
